What to Bring to Practices and Tournaments

Starlings Beach Program
Sand volleyball is a growing sport; join the Starlings Beach Program to be part of the action! Whether it is training to improve speed, read, and vertical for indoor or for a chance to compete at the Junior Beach Tour Championships, Starlings Volleyball’s Beach Program will prepare you to meet your goals with a fun, change of pace environment.

BAG or BACKPACK
Hold all your personal belongings in your backpack. Be sure everything is labeled.  DS Beach does not assume responsibility for any lost items.

SUNSCREEN
Players are conducted on the beach and sunscreen is essential. Please apply sunscreen liberally to your child’s entire body BEFORE arriving at camp and bring a container to re-apply during the day.

FULL DAY PLAYERS SHOULD BRING A BAG LUNCH

CLOTHES
All players will receive an official DS Beach camp t-shirt on the first day of practice. Dress in comfortable beach clothes (shorts, t-shirt, tank top.) We recommend light colors that reflect sunlight and keep you cool

FOOTWEAR
Bring sandals or shoes to walk between parking lots, restrooms and courts. Bring sand socks or athletic socks or aqua socks in case the sand gets very hot. These stay on players feet better than shoes and are available at sporting goods stores and online.

HEAD & EYEWEAR
Bring a hat or visor and sunglasses.

BEACH TOWEL or MAT

SNACKS & DRINKS
Water is not provided at sites so bring plenty of it. If you want something to drink or eat—like energy bars, sports drinks or fruit—bring it.
